Not everyone needs a militant skincare routine. After months of having a 10-step Korean beauty inspired routine, I must say, I am … exhausted. While I will admit that at one point, meticulously following each step of my nighttime ritual was calming – even therapeutic – for me, I’m beginning to feel pressed for time. Surprisingly, I’m even busier now than I was while finishing up my last semester of university, and at the end of every day, I struggle to even remove my makeup with a wipe 😭 (Truly horrifying, I know!) Should I even be using all of this gunk on my face? Can’t we all go back to a simpler time?
Apparently, the answer is yes.
The Brighten Up! Exfoliator and Moisturizer by VASANTI Cosmetics
I’ve been using the Brighten Up! Exfoliator and Moisturizer from VASANTI Cosmetics for the past three days now. In the same breath, I’ve also stopped using all of my other skincare products (aside from makeup remover, of course) to see if their products really work. My skincare routine went from 10 steps to 4, thank goodness. My primary concerns when it comes to my skin are getting rid of my acne scars and hyper-pigmentation, but from what I’ve read, this duo is also supposed to help with anti-aging and dull skin. If you have sensitive skin, you can use this stuff, too. In the short period of time I’ve been using this duo, I’ve noticed a visible difference in the radiance and texture of my skin! My complexion looks more even and is sooo smooth, my foundation sits comfortably on top of it.
The moisturizer is incredibly lightweight, which is my preferred texture. The last thing I want is to feel like I have extra goop that my oily skin won’t absorb. I apply it daily as usual, once in the morning and again in the evening. During the day, I’ll layer a sunscreen on top of it so that the brightening ingredients can effectively work their magic!

Now I know you’re wondering about key ingredients. This duo’s primary ingredients are aloe and papaya, which serve to hydrate, soothe, and brighten your skin. There are also professional micro-crystals included that exfoliate – not plastic, don’t worry! And since we’re all becoming a little more aware of what we consume, I’m happy to report that these products are 99% natural and 100% vegan friendly! My girlfriend Renee @casketkicker is going to FLIP 🍃 Oh, did I mention it smells like a tropical getaway?
