It’s monsoon season!
I like to think that I have a sunny disposition, which might be the reason why I’ve always preferred sunny weather over rainy gloom. But after living in Mumbai where the temperature is consistently above 30 degrees Celsius during the day, it’s safe to say that I’ve changed my mind. These days, I look forward to the rains, even if that means I have to drop rupees on footwear I swore I would never own (future blog post on my favourite gum boots to follow)! Besides, I’ve been sleeping better lately thanks to the soft pitter-patter of raindrops on my bedroom window. Maybe I could live in Vancouver, after all!
This monsoon season, my everyday ensemble can appropriately be described as “homeless person who works out sometimes, probably”.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this in the past, but I went from styling my hair every single day in Canada to almost never in Mumbai. I didn’t bring hairspray to India (airport security confiscates at least one item from my luggage every damn time!), and even if I did, my hair would immediately fall flat – no thanks to the humidity! I’ve completely given up. So now, I simply hide my hair under my go-to satin ball cap.
If I could wear oversized sweaters every single day of my life, I honestly would. And yes, of course I’m wearing short shorts underneath. My signature thigh highs aren’t going anywhere, no matter what persona I choose to assume when I wake up in the morning! Even for a sporty casual look like this one, I’ll still find a way to incorporate them into my outfits.
More outfit posts to come! (I’ve realized that I like blogging about beauty and fashion just as much as I like blogging about travel, heheh) How are you liking the new shop widget? 😉
